12 being higher than 10, Llywelyn should make a Dex check to remain standing.

Whitehands remains standing.

Ranulf drags Hamelin de Warenne [9/10]
William d'Aubigny engages Ranulf de Blondeville, combat next round.

Waleran de Beaumont vs. John Curzon Waleran de Beaumont stabs John Curzon for 12 damage.

Gilbert de Vernon vs. William of Salisbury William of Salisbury hits Gilbert de Vernon for 14 damage. Gilbert de Vernon falls

Simon de Montfort vs. Hubert de Burgh. Hubert and Simon tie. Nil result.

Robert de Beaumont vs. Llywellyn Llywelyn has a critical success, but Robert has a higher one. Robert does 26 true damage-15 soak is 11 damage. Llywelyn remains standing, but is spouting blood all over the place.

King Richard vs. William de Ferrers King Richard begins to have an identity crisis. But he still catches de Ferrers for 31 damage. This is well over double Ferrers' size, so he is down.

Richard de Redvers engages Llywelyn, combat next round.

The following characters are down and unsecured
Darragh MacAonghusa
Alan d'Aubigny
Roger Bigod
John fitzRichere
WIlliam de Braose
Gilbert de Vernon
de Sacey
Stephen de Montfichet
William the Lion
Geoffrey of Tournemine
Saer de Quincy
William de Mandeville
Aubrey de Vere
Jean de Poilley
Gaspard d'Ivry
Richard de Ferrers

Combats next round (if the injured Llywelyn wishes to continue)
Ranulf de Blondeville vs. William d'Aubigny
Waleran de Beaumont vs. John Curzon
Simon de Montfort vs. the dastardly Hugh de Burgh
Robert de Beaumont and Richard de Redvers vs. Llywelyn

A depressed Richard Lionheart and almost critically injured William of Salisbury are unengaged, and will probably fight each other.

Richard has a successful Battle test, in spite of having some sads.

As much as he would have loved to have stood on the field as the victor, the signs are clear. The numbers have turned against them and they find themselves hurting and outnumbered, with their leader on the ground. Llwelyn had done his best to rally, but a wise commander knew when to fight another day.

Simon hears the call to yield. He keeps his guard up nontheless, willing to strike against Hubert should he do the same. He calls to the King from his guarded position.

Richard at first doesn't hear over the pounding in his ears, but Simon de Montfort's timely call for his attention breaks through.

"Huh? Right, yielding." He looks around, noticing the blood arcing out of William of Salisbury's gorget. "Yeah, probably best. Alright, everybody, knock it off!" he roars.

Whitehands nods respectfully at Llewellyn, knowing the wounded young man might well have been killed facing him and Redvers both. "Wise decision sir," Earl Beaumont says with notable respect in his voice. He nods again and turns to ensure his interests are respected in the final accounting.

"Your majesty," he calls to Richard, and he stays mention of the ransoms when he sees his friend looking a bit out of sorts. He speaks briefly with the king, making sure the man is well after the close-run battle. Finally, convinced Richard is broadly fine, Whitehands reminds him, "And it was quite a thing, wasn't it? I flatten Mandeville, then all of a sudden I'm at my friend's side," he says, clapping the king on his armored shoulder. "Got the Scottish king down - critical to that, of course, when he's such a beast in combat - but that's the kind of thing one has to do, showing strong in honor of my glorious king."

--------
Intrigue to plant the seed that Richard should give more of the William the Lion ransom to Whitehands than to Brunswick. Roll on Intrigue 12: 4 means success.
And he wants his Mandeville money too.

"It was nicely done, Whitehands," King Richard acknowledges. "And your years of faithful service to me will be remembered, that much I can assure you. I must say the Earl of Chester made a good showing of himself as well. And that Welshman who stepped in for the King of Scotland. I think...yes, I think he's the fella that was bending my ear last night!"
