[D5 LA] Going Greek
The suggested lunch with the beautiful Jewish woman had been arranged and he wasn't going to let a bit of soreness get in the way of it. He seemed in a well enough mood and carried himself as well as he can after such an active afternoon as he walked towards their destination.

And affromented young maiden it seems was heading into the same direction, as he could see her while she was currently giving out a coin to a beggar before she walked onwards, the girl that was her maid traveling with her, seemingly not having seen him yet.Geoffrey of Tournemine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:33 pmThe suggested lunch with the beautiful Jewish woman had been arranged and he wasn't going to let a bit of soreness get in the way of it. Geoffrey moved into her sight line and waited for her to join him, a pleasant smile given to Miriam and her servant. "Good afternoon Lady Miriam. It is a pleasure to see you once more."

"Sir Geoffrey, a pleasure to meet you again, or as a greek would say Kalí méra ippótis Georgias. , " she says and offers him a courtesy while the maid, looking even more out of place here then her mistresses kept behind her, a warry eye on the local people.Geoffrey of Tournemine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:54 pmGeoffrey moved into her sight line and waited for her to join him, a pleasant smile given to Miriam and her servant. He mouths what he thinks he heard, slowly, "Kali... mera.... ipotis... Lady Miriam" His accent and unfamiliarity mostly butcher it, missing all inflection. He offers an arm to her for the remainder of the walk to the restaurant.
"So, be honest, that was absolutely terrible right?" he smirks, and it's obvious his lighthearted nature would be able to take criticisms well. He had developed plans for reconstruction, been among those that could read the poetry properly, and was requesting language lessons. He clearly liked learning and anyone that liked learning, did not mind correction.

Re: [D5 LA] Going Greek
"Including you , accidentally enobling me with ipotitis " she says with a laugh " Δεσποινί " would be the adress for a young woman like myself. " She says as she accept the arm ." Greek as a tongue is made for different throats, and so the letters are used strange compared to english. It is like asking a German to sing a soft sound "Geoffrey of Tournemine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 2:13 pmHe mouths what he thinks he heard, slowly, "Kali... mera.... ipotis... He rolled over the word in his head, trying to sort out the sounds. "Kali mera Δεσποινί, then." Again, he didn't have a natural ear for this sort of thing and his accent was strong. The languages he learned must have taken a long time for him to actually get down.
"I've heard it, soft and gentle words from a German. But certainly it was the exception," he says with a chuckle. "And she was a performer that trained in Paris. So that likely helped."

"One would not need to wonder long why a blond woman who is known to perform in paris would remain in your memory" she says clearly amused. " And it is not as bad as you feared it to be, the true horror for you shall begin with their letters." she said easily, fluid, and using the way that she smiled and pressed himself as she evaded another traveler like a weapon , even if it was still mostly sheated.Geoffrey of Tournemine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 3:01 pmHe rolled over the word in his head, trying to sort out the sounds. Re: [D5 LA] Going Greek
"So I've been told about Greek letters," he replied.
Her arsenal, however, does not get the blush or avoidance of eye contact that the ever Chaste Roman Christians would generally give. Instead, she receives an appreciative smile, the smile of a man that knew what he liked and wasn't afraid to admit it. Playing with him wasn't going to get bashful reactions. The slight stroke of his thumb against her held arm said he'll play back.
"But I would definitely know the letters. What good is there in being able to speak the poetry of a language, if I cannot read it?"

"You desire a challenge for your mind," he guesses as they get closer to the restaurant, it being just a block away now.
"I'd guess you don't want students or teachers. You want peers. I'm not certain I can be that for you while we're here but I'm up for giving it a try."

"Oh , to interact with a student or a teacher is not something that I am adverse to, but curiosity is one of my sins, just as beauty is one for far to many men I confess. And a open mind is a great thing that I can request of others alas in that regard. And so far you have shown this."Geoffrey of Tournemine wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 6:02 pm"You desire a challenge for your mind," he guesses as they get closer to the restaurant, it being just a block away now.

"I never believed appreciating beauty was a sin," he says with a smirk. "We create and appreciate beauty in all areas of life. Why should the body of God's creation be any different? No, it's acting on those appreciations that is a sin. But men are weak and God is forgiving."
The way he speaks that last line... it's easy to tell Geoffrey doesn't mind asking for forgiveness.
Reaching the restaurant, he lets go of Miriam's arm so that he can get the door for her and they can be shown to seats.

"Of course we are. It's the only way we can live with our own weaknesses. Because we won't or don't want to know the truth about ourselves. But we hope that if we tell ourselves something long enough that it might become true, and I don't think that is a condition unique to men. Sometimes it even works out if we can convince enough other people to tell themselves too. This is how great ideas spread."Miriam Yarchi wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 11:36 pm"And men are all to often also more prone to weakness to explain away their own weakness." she says philosophically as she joins him in finding their seats
When a servant comes around Geoffrey looks to props his elbow on the table, and his chin on his hand, looking to her for a Greek lesson. This was clearly a family run place and the servant has a look that could be somewhere between Greek and Breton.
