[D6, LE, EVENT] A Wise Father
[D6, LE, EVENT] A Wise Father
This is a Skill-based Event for 4 players only, working as a team.
LOCATION: This event is considered to take place throughout Westminster Palace. Players may make multiple threads in the LE timeslot throughout the Palace complex, but should carefully label them so that we know that they are part of the Wise Father event and what order they were posted in. So Wise Father Search A, B, etc.
DETAILS: Sir Robert Faulconbridge is distraught. It seems his younger son, Philip, was incensed at not being allowed to see the jousting yesterday, and has run off. Philip's friend, Henry de Bohun, saw him sneak into the palace kitchens. He desperately needs help finding the boy before he gets into real trouble. At each stage of the investigation, players may:
1) Use an Awareness roll to look for physical signs of the tough-minded kid.
2) Use a Courtesy check to ask someone nicely for information.
3) Use Intrigue to threaten or cajole a person into giving up the goods.
In order to progress, at least one team member needs to be successful at a roll to pick up a clue. Further clues may be revealed with further rolls.
Other rolls may become necessary over time, and modifiers to the principal rolls may be applied, depending on the areas revealed and searched.

Every phrase and every sentence is an end and a beginning,/Every poem an epitaph. And any action/Is a step to the block, to the fire, down the sea's throat/Or to an illegible stone: and that is where we start.
We die with the dying:/See, they depart, and we go with them./We are born with the dead:/See, they return, and bring us with them./The moment of the rose and the moment of the yew-tree/Are of equal duration. A people without history/Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern/Of timeless moments. So, while the light fails/On a winter's afternoon, in a secluded chapel/History is now and England --Eliot, Little Gidding

Giles was detouring through the Westminster Kitchens after spending a few hours in the chapel, a not uncommon sight over the last several days. So when he saw Sir Robert apoplectic with concern of course he would lend aid to help find his son.
His calm demeanor and winning attitude managed to part the gossip from the lips of the kitchen staff who had spotted the young Lord during his wanderings. Gossip that had Giles headed to the Apartments...

It doesn't take half a moment for one of the scullery maids to observe that she saw the young rapscallion, alright. He was loading up pies into a sack, but he took off after he saw her.
"Saint Michael preserve us, but them young lads is quick!"
She said she saw him heading up the back stairway to the residential floor.

A very frightened servant tells you that she saw the boy, alright, hoofin' it upstairs with all the leftover pies he could lay his greedy little hands on. How's that for a nobleman's little sprog?Llywelyn mab Iorwerth wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:32 pmLlwelyn follows, doing a round of badgering of his own
