OOC Chat 1: Midwinter spring is its own season
A Place to Talk. Enjoy, with one request: please do not speak in character in ooc chat, or any other ooc place. It starts out fun, but with a pvp game, even a gentle-ish one like this, it can get ugly quick. Thanks!!

Every phrase and every sentence is an end and a beginning,/Every poem an epitaph. And any action/Is a step to the block, to the fire, down the sea's throat/Or to an illegible stone: and that is where we start.
We die with the dying:/See, they depart, and we go with them./We are born with the dead:/See, they return, and bring us with them./The moment of the rose and the moment of the yew-tree/Are of equal duration. A people without history/Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern/Of timeless moments. So, while the light fails/On a winter's afternoon, in a secluded chapel/History is now and England --Eliot, Little Gidding

Quick note - I'll be back in the morrow (around 10 or so hours for me), so don't feel the need to wait up on me.

The coronation is playing out in the Apse forum. We're at the part where folks swear fealty. Because he's a baron, Geoffrey would be seated in the South Transept, then swear fealty to Richard in the Apse.
The flowchart for the coronation is Nave for the procession then Apse for the ritual.
There is also the Feast going on in Westminster Hall. There's an event available in the Main Thread that seems not to have exactly captured the public imagination.
You can also post anywhere and do anything you like, like arriving in Westminster Palace (where the de Blondevilles and their retainers are staying), or talking to anyone you can think of, but I think a lot of people are still pretty enmeshed in Shika, and it's going to be slow until that ends.

So we shouldn't invite Richard to dinner then? Fine.King Richard Lionheart wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:07 amRichard absorbs the speech, though partway through his leg starts to bounce.
"Right. So...I should give it to him because he's a great guy, reminds you of what you'd like to be, and because he'd swear homage to me. Do you know how many of these old farts call themselves Earls swore fealty to my father and then stabbed him in the back because my big brother asked 'em to? Homage is nice, but it's just words. Same as "I'm your brother" and "I love you." Maybe they're true right now, and maybe they're not, but don't trust in 'em forever, kid, or you'll end up like a de Braose dinner guest."
