Description
The temple is the precinct of the Knights Templar in London. This crusading order has been recruiting heavily to replace those brothers lost at Hattin and the following battles across the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
In addition to being a cloister and administrative center for the Templar Order, the Temple is also one of the most prominent banking institutions in the British Isles. People seeking a loan who do not want the royal entanglements that come with the heavily regulated Jewish moneylenders come to the knights, who are generally happy to oblige at fair, non-usurous rates. Money is tighter in light of the recent troubles the order has been facing, but a very persuasive noble with good credit and a better cause might find a friendly ear in the Preceptor of the Order.

Every phrase and every sentence is an end and a beginning,/Every poem an epitaph. And any action/Is a step to the block, to the fire, down the sea's throat/Or to an illegible stone: and that is where we start.
We die with the dying:/See, they depart, and we go with them./We are born with the dead:/See, they return, and bring us with them./The moment of the rose and the moment of the yew-tree/Are of equal duration. A people without history/Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern/Of timeless moments. So, while the light fails/On a winter's afternoon, in a secluded chapel/History is now and England --Eliot, Little Gidding
