Giles was a few minutes earlier than normal tonight, for tonight he truly had need of the Chapel in his mind. Tonight would see any who passed by St Edward's noticing the young man deep in prayer.
For last night Giles had broken an oath. He had sworn to maintain a vigil at this place at a certain hour. While he could not have foreseen the events of the joust that would call him to tend the broken body of another, he still felt an internal need to make penance for his transgression.
