"Yes, you are famed for your...vigor, Baron. I am sure it will be a relief to work off some of that energy in such a wholesome and respected activity. Have MAtilda or Nichole been bold enough to attempt to ask you to win in their name?"

"Even if they had, I'd regretfully have to inform them that my sister's favor is already accepted, as I had previously promised her. And I would not go back on my word."

[Giles de Braose]

"I respect your loyalty milord," Giles answers before one of the bees buzzing around Marie's flower draws a little near for Giles's liking and elicits a protracted glance to see what develops.

"I can see why Earl Aubigny looks upon your petition favourably. Have you seen many og the other men jousting? Or heard of their reputations? An opponent you'd like to face, or avoid?"

[Geoffrey of Tournemine]

"I've heard of most of them, but I don't keep track of tournament records. Several are capable knights though, so I suspect it will be a difficult tournament."

He shifts back to the Aubigny family.

"I must admit, I am a bit nervous to hear from Earl Arundel about how his conversation with his daughters went."

[Giles de Braose]

"If you wish, I can try and enquire, subtly of course, as to how your courtship proceeds? It would be but a little thing, a trifle really to enquire of one friend on behalf of another."

[Geoffrey of Tournemine]

"It would be appreciated," he says with a nod. "I am not against seeking myself to learn, but I would not put pressure or rush a decision," he admits.

"It's not a small thing that I ask and I would want the Ladies to be comfortable with whatever decisions are made."

[Margaret de Beaumont]

"...And this is my aunt, the vaunted and well read Lady Margaret de Beaumont. Lady Margaret, this gentleman is Paul De Warennes. I believe we have met with Sir Llywelyn before, at the Coronation."

Paul turned and looked at Margaret "Well mercy me well met Lady Margaret." The blonde giant said with a grin as he gave the lady an appraising look "the Warennes have always considered the Beaumonts friends and allies. I regret it's been many years since I've visited your lands my Lady but it seems you bring their beauty to court."

Margaret curtsied to the Baron, nodding to the Knight. "Why thank you, Baron. Even had you visited my lands, you wouldn't have found me there recently as I have been with my cousin's in Normandy. Always good to reunite with friends and allies, however. Like my Cousin, here." She smiles up at Simon. "I wish you luck, cousin, in the joust today!"

[King Richard Lionheart]

A sennet announces the arrival of the King, whose commanding tramp to the throne causes those nearest the dais to take a step back. When the inevitable roar begins, however, it is filled with mirth.

"Normans, I have heard from Essex and from Devon that your Englishman is a fine sailor, easily the equal of any Genoese or Venetian. I have not seen this with my own eyes. I have decided to put their claims to the test. In four days' time there will be what the Italians call a Regatta, and we shall see who among my vassals is a famous sailor, and who is not."

Looking quite pleased with himself, he sits down on his throne, turns to his herald and says "get on with it!."

Nervously, the herald clears his throat. "His majesty is eager to see you all again at the lists this afternoon for the joust. He also wishes it to be known that knights and warriors who wish to register for the melee will find the rolls open in two days' time. Tomorrow, court will be given over to the Queen and the scholars and ladies of England and France. I am instructed to inform the gentlemen knights here assembled that they may find the subjects under discussion quite edifying, but they will be enjoined quite strongly to be silent as the fairer sex and learned men enter disputation. Violators will do so at their peril."

The herald bows deeply. "Our Dread Sovereign will now entertain the business of the realm. Those with such business may approach."

[Andre l'Ecrivain]

An event of erudition? Andre thinks, perking up suddenly. It would be a good time to advance the idea of a code of law for the kingdom

I shall have to see if I can't be the one to give it.

[Giles de Braose]

He pokes Geoffrey in the ribs with his elbow, no small effort from the smaller man. "This better get me invited to the wedding." He teases before adding the final touches to the picture and signing it...Frederik.

"I believe the trick tomorrow may be to remain quiet. Among knights I consider myself learned and well read, but I dare not step on the toes of any who seek to shine tomorrow. I guess that my sister might use the support of my presence." It feels like the last part was more said to himself.

"I see no reason why I would not invite you. Your presence seems to have brought fortune in our tower design. May as well invite good fortune to my wedding, no?"

[Giles de Braose]

"Well perhaps I will have to be a complete boor and ask for a pair then, but please excuse me for a minute." He answers as he rises and heads over to the swarm of bees flitting around Marie's flower, his sketch in hand.

Waiting for an opportunity, he offers up the art piece to Marie with a smile. "A small memento to commemorate this grand event m'lady?" He offers as he provides the gift.

Geoffrey nods, and does not hinder Giles departure. He does smile at who he approaches though.
