Nearer the entrance to the Hall, Hugh de Puiset and Baldwin of Forde can be seen talking in hushed tones with a third man.

ntering the Hall, Giles sees a single beacon of light outshining all others, like a ship being tossed by the waves of her admiring fans. He spares a smile and a knowing nod of greeting to the Bishop of Durham before continuing into the room, deciding to pay a visit to the de Puiset at a more convenient time.

Giles was far more of a writer than an artist, but he dabbled with illustration from time to time, so today he sat close enough to hear the voice of angels without cramping her style as he attempted to create a sketch that would hold one fraction of the true beauty he sought to capture.

Making his way into the court, Geoffrey greets the royals with bows. He moves to join Giles, looking over his art and smiling. "A fine work. You must have felt quite inspired."

"An eye for art Baron, or just for beauty? I will admit to the latter being directly responsible for the former." Giles answers without much fear of shame.

He'd heard the rumors already this morning and there was little he could do about it now. It seemed his evening appointments had not gone unnoticed.

"Both are worthy of appreciation," he says with a smirk. "But as is talent. We can't miss the beauty of the work the hands do to bring such art to life."

[Paul De Warennes]

Today a newcomer arrived at court. Someone saw fit to invite an exceedingly well dressed giant. Paul walked into the room towering over most other men, his pale yet striking eyes swept the area looking for people of note.

His long blonde hair settled nearly about his shoulders and framed his face without blocking view of his strong jaw and high cheekbones. The knight mingled around with an easy smile nodding and greeting those whose path he crossed.

"I can only hope that these mortal fingers can do justice to the immortal soul that shines from within." Giles waxed poetic. "I understand the d'Aubigny coffers are a little lighter after your request for consideration last evening? Bored of Crehen already milord?" He teased.

"Not at all. But I would love to be able to call my wife Countess, and to provide the finest life I can make available," he says with a smile.

"Contessa de Northumbria? Heavy is the head milord. A nosy gossip might ask if there's a young woman getting fitted for a crown already after knowing the ladies for..." Giles scratches his chin.

"Has it been three whole days? Or maybe four? Do all Bretons move so swiftly?"

"I would agree and would prefer taking more time, but with the impending crusade certain formalities need be hastened as well. It was actually a suggestion from Lady Matilda," he explains.

"Current crusading circumstances certainly conspire to constrain and curtail common chronal courtesy." Giles conceded with a bow of his head, carefully adding a few more charcoal strokes to the parchment before him.

"Speaking of current circumstances, I hope you won't be terribly offended if I risk our newfound camaraderie by cheering against you in this afternoon's joust?"

"I would certainly not be upset over that. After all, others likely need more encouraging." Geoffrey smirked playfully at that. He didn't expect he'd actually win, not that he would not give it his all.

"Do you observe the lists frequently?"

"As a student of the healing arts, more often than I would choose otherwise. As a pure spectator though?"

Giles pauses for effect and grins broadly. "Only when my family tilt."

Andre takes his usual position, scribbling furiously upon his records.

Pleased at himself for not swearing even in his head, de Montfort was still intimidated by the sheer size of the man. If he felt small due to his age before, right now he felt downright like a petunia at the foot of an oak. Nevertheless, he still sought to introduce himself.

He bowed, admittedly more than a little nervous at feeling even smaller.

"S--Sir..." Heavens, he felt like such a child right now.

"This one i-is Montfort. non- Simon de Montfort. Simon IV de Montfort. Allow me to welcome you to this September's court."

From the corner of his eye, Llwelyn sees Simon stumble a tad in his words at a giant of a man.

Giles pauses for effect and grins broadly. "Only when my family tilt."

Seeing the de Warrenes man, he smirks at others reactions. He was not so different in size from Richard. But certainly for most people that would be an intimidating difference. For Geoffrey it was just a slight head tilt, not gaping at the sky.

"I enjoy watching more than I enjoy tilting myself. And I tend to cheer for those that are the best drinkers and have the most fun," he says with a smirk. "Because if someone's going to win, I want it to be the man that will enjoy his victory."

Paul then hears the greeting from the other man and nods at them as well "Good to meet you Llwelyn mab Iorwerth. Paul de Warennes Baron of Lingfield I was just asking Simon here how things have been around here. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a late arrival."

Oh, okay, so he wasn't going to be eaten alive.

That calmed the Montfort quite an amount, allowing him to recapture his decorum.

"I have, Sir - it has also been my first time in England in a long time. I came to swear fealty to his Majesty."

Margaret enters, trailed by Hildegarde. Seeing her husband fawning over Marie, she smirks. Perhaps she needs to find a monk to trail him around as well. No worries appear on her face, though her eyes are quite interested by Marie. Perhaps an ally against that dreadful shrieking Breton woman.

Seeing her cousin still ill at ease, she makes her way to Simon, giving him a chaste kiss on the cheek unless he waves her off as he sees her approaching. In fact, if waved off, she’ll aim towards Marie.

Paul grinned down to the red haired man "Oh that's wonderful to hear, I'm afraid I'm not much at the tilt but the melee? Now that's a place to shine."

The blonde giant said with a grin as he gave the lady an appraising look "the Warennes have always considered the Beaumonts friends and allies. I regret it's been many years since I've visited your lands my Lady but it seems you bring their beauty to court."
